Introductory School to Renewable Energy

Are you interested in discovering the fascinating world of renewable energy — learning how it works, when and how it can be used, and seeing it in action?

Are you considering continuing your studies or exploring the opportunities and initiatives available in the renewable energy sector in your area?

The summer school on renewable energy is open to both those approaching the topic for the first time and those who already have some experience — even outside a strictly academic context.

Through a combination of theoretical lessons and hands-on practical exercises, students will gain a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the main commercially viable renewable technologies, understanding how they work and the steps that led to their development and implementation.

In addition, the school will offer an overview of renewable energy markets — from the international level down to the local — with particular attention to current market trends.

XII edition SIER, 2026

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve reached the 12th edition of the SIER School!

This year’s edition will take place from September 21 to 26, 2026, at the University of Udine, in the Rizzi Science Campus, Nuova Biblioteca building, located on Via delle Scienze.

Throughout the week, we will explore various aspects of renewable energy sources and their development as a response to climate and energy challenges.

The program includes lectures, laboratory activities, company testimonials, and site visits, all organized with the support of the University’s Business Liaison Office (Punto Impresa).

The opening day events will be open to the public (subject to seat availability), in order to promote communication and engagement with both the university and local community.
